“Dr. Lorrie” as I am affectionately known by my clients, colleagues and friends.

I have over 20 years of diversified experience in the human services field and boast a wealth of knowledge that has been learned from real life experiences. This makes me totally authentic and able to personally relate to your emotional, sexual and spiritual issues.

I am compassionate and sensitive to your needs and strive to practice what I preach, leading by example.
I believe empowerment is achieved through education. Education is also necessary in order to change negative belief systems and allow you to think “outside the box,” discover your own truth, raise your self-esteem and build your confidence.

As a child who grew up in an orphanage and the foster care system, I understand the struggles, pain and dynamics of these children, teens and adults. I am a contracted provider for Our Kids, Miami’s Lead Child Welfare Agency and work with children who have entered the child dependency system. My passion is to assist these children on their journey and to empower and encourage them to move past their difficult beginnings and emerge as successful, healthy adults. I also personally understand the ongoing struggles of adults who have been exposed to the foster care system, due to family problems such as domestic violence, alcoholism, pathological relationships, abuse and neglect.

I know what it takes to overcome the negative impact of a childhood riddled with abuse, abandonment, pain, guilt and shame. Together we will work to remove the impact of shame and guilt through TIR, new coping skills, building healthy thoughts and perceptions and worldview.

I interweave the following alternative practices into the therapeutic process:

Trauma Incident Resolution (TIR)
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
EMDR
Holistic Practices
Life Skills
Breath Work
Meditation & Visualization
Affirmations & Positive Thinking
